Everybody here has recorded with everybody else. That is a strength, not a small pond, and it changes how a record gets made.
Everyone has played on everyone else's record
Lagos is a market. Abuja is a circle. The difference matters when you are making something: in a circle, the person who engineered your last record is on the next one as a feature, and the producer who turned you down in March is in the room in June.
What that means for a session
It means references travel. A verse you cut here gets heard by people who will work with you later, so the standard on a Tuesday afternoon is the same as the standard on a release.
It also means credit matters more than it does in a bigger market. We keep track of who played what and put it in the files you get back.
Why we film sessions
Acoustika Concerts exists because the scene deserves a record of itself that is not only finished singles. A live take says something a mix cannot.
