The rules of using the studio, written so you can read them once and know where you stand.
Last updated 22 August 2026
An account, and any verification on it, belongs to the person who registered it. It cannot be sold, lent, shared or transferred to anyone else, and a booking made on it is that person's booking.
If somebody else turns up to use time booked on your account, we may turn them away. If we find an account is being used by somebody other than the person registered to it, we can suspend it and keep the registration fee.
This is not administrative tidiness. Verification is how we know who is alone in the studio overnight, and it is worth nothing if the account can change hands.
Studio time is booked in blocks. A recording session is two hours a song and a production session is four, and that time is a limit rather than a target: the booking ends when it ends, and running over means booking again.
A booking is confirmed when payment clears in full, not when you choose the hours. Until then the slot is held for a few minutes and then released, so an abandoned checkout does not keep the studio off sale.
A session is run by one of our producers. A lease is you and your own team in the room, with one of our producers on duty.
Verification lasts a year and costs a registration fee, which is not refundable. It pays for the checking rather than for the outcome, so if we turn your details down you can correct them and send them again at no further cost within that year.
We ask for the name on your ID, a photograph of the document, an address, and a referee we can call. We call the referee to confirm you are who you say you are before approving anything.
When the year runs out you are unverified again, and the caution fee applies to leases until you renew.
Leasing the studio without a verified account requires a refundable caution fee. It is held against damage, not charged as a fee, and it covers every lease you take until you ask for it back from your portal.
We can only ask for it back once you have no lease coming up, which is the reason it is held.
If something is damaged we may keep part or all of it, and we will tell you in writing what for.
A caution fee allows a limited number of leases. After that we need your account verified, because at some point we need to know who is alone in the studio overnight.
Reschedule free up to 48 hours before your booking. Inside 48 hours the deposit is not refundable, because the slot can no longer realistically be sold.
If we cancel on you, you get everything back.
You own what you make. We hold no rights over your music.
Masters and stems are released once the balance is paid. Rough mixes are usually shared before that so you can hear progress.
We keep a copy so we can send it again if you lose it. Ask and we will delete ours.
Treat the room and the equipment as you would your own. Do not bring more people than you told us about, and do not smoke in the live room.
We can end a session for behaviour that puts people or equipment at risk. That is rare and we would rather never do it.
Tell us. Most problems are cheaper to fix than to argue about, and we would rather you came back than won a dispute.
